Thanks to TAD not all old wheelchairs end up on the scrap heap. Some only need to be dusted off and recycled while others can be modified as goods movers.
Volunteer Dave Welch modified a chair for Trevor after an accident left him with a major back problem.
The father of a young family, Trevor was restricted to lifting no more than 2kg but after Dave removed ends from an old wheelchair and made a detachable side tray, Trevor found he was able to do much more around the house.
“It has made all the difference to me especially on those days when my back gets really sore.”
