Computer Support Services transitions to WorkVentures

From the 5th January, TAD Disability Services will transition the Computer Support Service to WorkVentures, the largest non-profit computer refurbisher in Australia.

After more than 19 years providing refurbished computers to people with a disability and low income earners, TAD Disability Services today announced its decision to transition the Computer Support Service to WorkVentures, a charity providing complimentary services to our target group. Both organisations believe in the importance of access to technology to increase independence in our community.

Since 1995 TAD Disability Services has supported low-income earners and people with a disability to access computers and ongoing phone support to give them the assistance, encouragement and confidence to develop their skills for greater participation in the workplace, education and their communities.

The WorkVentures mission is to improve lives through technology, training & practical career skills. They operate Australia’s largest non-profit computer refurbisher and have supplied more than 50,000 computers and laptops since 2002. With an Australian-based call centre, WorkVentures also provides affordable hotline support for people using Microsoft Windows-based computers.

From 5 January 2015, WorkVentures will provide service and support to all existing TAD Disability Services clients who hold a warranty contract. All future clients will be directed to WorkVentures to continue to receive quality computer packages and ongoing support.

We would like to express our thanks to the volunteers who have worked together and refurbished computers, attended to calls, provided administration support and deliveries. The dedication and quality of work has been excellent and we thank you all for your years of service and achievement at TAD. We look forward to working with many of these volunteers in other areas of TAD.

Our thanks also go to the generous individuals and organisations who have donated computer equipment over the years. Much of the recently donated stock will be moved to WorkVentures for refurbishment and the remaining will be recycled.
