COVID-19 Latest Update

Following our latest update, TAD has made further changes to the way we operate due to COVID-19. This situation is constantly evolving and we will continue to update our activities to respond to the Federal Government and Chief Medical Officer’s advice to ensure the safety of our clients, volunteers and staff.

Assessment Days

From Monday 31st March all regional NSW Freedom Wheels assessment days will be postponed until a later date. We look forward to returning to these regional communities in the future.

All assessments located in Northmead and Beresfield will continue with additional screening of clients and their families.

All clients and carers attending assessment days should not attend if they have or have had contact with anyone who has been overseas or had flu-like symptoms in the past 14 days.

Clients and their carers will be politely asked to go home if they present with any signs or symptoms of flu-like symptoms and we look forward to rescheduling you at a future date.

Hand sanitisers are available for all clients and visitors and staff will be using disinfectant wipes on any products before and after use.

Reception and Assessment Areas

We still welcome clients to our Northmead Assistive Technology Centre. If you or anyone you’ve been in contact with have any flu-like symptoms or have traveled overseas in the last 14 days, please stay home and we will reschedule your visit.

When entering the building, please remember to take extra precaution by practicing good hand hygiene. Hand sanitisers are located by the front desk of the building and soap is available at every sink in the building (kitchens and bathrooms).

Home Visits and Deliveries

In-home visits by staff or volunteers will temporarily discontinue to abide by the social distancing rule. We are working with clients to find alternatives including using face time and other video conferring options.

Home deliveries will continue with a no-contact policy. We will arrange for the volunteer to leave your TAD solution in a safe place for you and your family (step/porch/side gate, etc).

Prior to a delivery being made by our volunteers, please advise our staff if you or anyone you’ve been in contact with has been overseas or had flu-like symptoms in the past 14 days.

We thank you for your patience and will continue to support our community with personalised assistive technology solutions during this time.

We will continue to act in accordance with all Government and health advice and keep you informed on any further developments at TAD involving the COVID-19.

Chief Executive Officer
