Donor Focus: Lions Club Wollongong

We were pleased to sit down and speak to Peter Howe – a major supporter of Solve-TAD for over 12 years. Peter leads the Lions Club in Wollongong, and in that time, Lions Club Wollongong has funded over 60 Freedom Wheels bikes!

“I have always loved the work that Solve-TAD do to bring freedom to children and adults living with disability. There has always been a need to supply timely support for children and adults who could not finance their bikes. It also provided a way to have the funding supplied in a dignified way to the families.”

“The most common theme from the bikes that we fund is one of inclusion, allowing the family to ride together, allowing the child to do what his/her siblings do.”

“This association is extremely important. Without our project many children would have had difficulty in funding the bikes that they have received, but the important thing is that they have all had the early assurance that the bike will be funded and supplied at a time that they would like. This is especially important if it is associated with a birthday or Christmas as has been the case for many of the bike deliveries.”

Thank you Peter and the Lions Club of Wollongong for your ongoing support!

Solve-TAD acknowledges the traditional owners of country throughout Australia and recognises their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to them and their cultures and to elders past, present and emerging.
