Superstar Evan meets Paralympian Ryley Batt!

Solve-TAD was delighted to take part in a very special day last week.

After our first attempt back in July, we were finally able to bring together our Ready, Set, Move superstar and Freedom Wheels rider Evan with Paralympian Ryley Batt.

Solve-TAD was joined by the team at Action Occupational Therapy, GIO (Our Gold Sponsors for Ready, Set, Move) and Evan’s family and friends for a meet and greet with the Australian Paralymian, Ryley Batt.

Ryley is part of the Australian Wheelchair Rugby team, and has won two gold and one silver medal at five Paralympic Games.

“Ever since Evan heard that he was meeting Ryley, he started using his wheelchair more, and practiced riding so that he could beat Ryley!”.
The afternoon ended with a speed race between the two – Evan on his bike and Ryley in his chair. Thanks to all his hard work, Evan was just too fast in the end!

Thank you to all who were involved – Action OT, GIO and Ryley Batt, for making such a special day come true for our Superstar Evan.

Solve-TAD’s biggest fundraising event, Ready, Set, Move is returning this November in its third and biggest year yet!

Ready, Set, Move is a physical challenge participants complete in November and fundraise to help kids and adults living with a disability to experience freedom of movement, sometimes for the very first time. Decide whether you want to walk, run, wheel, cycle, skate, swim, golf, squat, or complete push ups. Choose your own target and complete this over the 30 days in November.

Evan has been a participant and ambassador for Ready, Set, Move in past years, and can’t wait to ride and fundraise again in 2022!

Last year we had over 300 participants and raised more than $80,000 for our life-changing Freedom Wheels service. Will you help us go above and beyond this year?

Solve-TAD acknowledges the traditional owners of country throughout Australia and recognises their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to them and their cultures and to elders past, present and emerging.
